A rising star in fitness franchises is bringing its 24-hour gym concept to Glasgow.
Pure Gym, will help city centre residents, professionals and shift workers get into shape when the facility opens at 140 Bath Street in July.
The gym, which will include cardiovascular and fitness machines, is spread out over 20,000 sq ft, providing a modern environment for work outs.
There will also be a range of other services available, such as spinning and abs classes, and personal trainers will be available to provide motivation and one-to-one advice.
The Pure Gym concept is the brainchild of entrepreneur and leisure industry specialist Peter Roberts.
Following the opening in Edinburgh last year, the Bath Street club will be Scotland’s second Pure Gym outlet .
Chief executive Mr Roberts admits he is excited to be offering a “fun and desirable” gym in Glasgow.
He said: “In the current economic climate, everyone is looking for ways to save money and Pure Gym offers just that, without compromise.
“With no binding contract and the chance to exercise 24/7 in a safe and secure environment, Pure Gym really does offer something different, so we hope that we will not only attract those that have never been a gym member, but also those who are fitness enthusiasts.
“We are excited about bringing our unique fitness concept to Scotland’s largest city and adding a new dimension to Glasgow’s fitness scene.”
The city centre spot will be the sixth Pure Gym across the UK.
An outlet is due to open in Sheffield next week, and there are plans to expand the franchise further.
The company aims to operate 20 fully-equipped gyms across the UK by 2012.
Pure Gym is also looking to offer complementary services in Glasgow including physiotherapy, health screening and beauty therapy.
