Manager Appointed for UK’s First Pure Gym Site

Sam Connell - Manager - Pure Gym Manchester Pure Gym, the new budget gym company, has appointed Sam Connell as gym manager for their 15,000 sq ft site at 3 Hardman Street, Spinningfields, which opens in October.  It will be the Pure Gym’s first UK operation and there are plans to have 20 venues by 2012.

Sam served in the Royal Navy for eight years, latterly as a fitness manager at RNAS Culdrose in Cornwall and he also represented the Royal Navy and Combined Services in swimming, soccer and water polo.  He has been a senior trainer at the No1 Boot Camp and ran his own personal training business.  His clients included supermodels, national athletes, swimmers and sports players as well as celebrities such as Dr David Bull, the award-winning TV presenter and former on-screen doctor at Sky TV.

Sam joins Pure Gym from Esporta, the UK’s leading premium health and leisure provider, where he was fitness manager at their Lancashire Health & Racquets Club in Middleton.
